A home?

After wandering around for a long long time Ilvara one day was walking down the road when she met an old man that had sat down on a boulder and looked sick. She stopped to see if she could be of any help. It turned out that the man lived a small cottage near by but he had suddenly felt ill and was having trouble getting home.

Ilvara helped him home and he asked her to stay and help him out while he was so sick. She did all her best for him but he just kept getting worse. Eventually she went and asked the minister of the church in the near by village called Skovby to come and see the old man.

The man told the minister that since he didn't have any family he wanted Ilvara to inherit all his belongings - which wasn't much but it included the cottage. A couple of weeks later he died.

Ilvara didn't know if she wanted to stay but the winter was coming so she decided to stay at least til spring.

Searching

For a long time Ilvara wandred around looking for a happier life - or perhaps she was more searching for answers. It was a difficult time for her and ever so often she had to skip a meal or two because she didn't have anything to eat. Luckely she was very good at finding whatever nature offered her. Like birds eggs.

She never starved for any lengh of time though. Often she stoped at small farms and worked for a few days and they would give her food for her journey. But she never felt inclined to settle down anywhere.

In the beginning.

Ilvara mother was a troll (from a tribe that was never touched by Evil) and her father was a knight on adventure. Since her father was human her mother had to give her up because a child that's half human needs milk from a human woman or another half troll.

So she found a human family in a small village who had a dying baby girl. When the baby died during the night she took it away and put her own strong and healthy daughter in the crib instead. Then she cast a spell so the people wouldn't know.

Ilvara grew up in this family not knowing they weren't her real parents but she never really felt she belonged among them. Her "mother" was never really happy with her and tried to make her be like the baby who died. She cut of her hair and made her wear a blonde wig and made her wear a really tight corset and very tight stockings and shoes to make her look more slender and small like the dead girl.

But trolls are strong and Ilvara grew up. When she was old enough she left her home and went out in the world to seek happyness.

At first she still used the wig even though she changed the clothes.

Later on as her own hair grew back she stoped using the wig. Slowly she more and more got a sence of who and what she was.
